I just reinstalled my VB6, and for some reason when I tell VB that I want to use the Sheridan 3d ocx controls, it says that I dont have the license to use that, what gives here? This should be a completely new fresh install.
Hi datapro777!

I've seen this before, but I'm not sure exactly what I did to fix it.

1st solution would be to reinstall the Sheridan control.

Was the Sheridan control the one you had to get off the VB4 controls directory on the VB5 CD?
This is the Sheridan 3D Active OCX that comes w/VB6. All I want to do is enable the use of it, under Project pull down, then clicking Components. Then when you see it in your toolbox and try to use it, that's when you get the error msg that you dont have the license to use this. This is a complete new install, this doesn't make sense.
thanks for your help.
I had the same problem with Sheridan controls. The reason the license is missing is because the install did not complete 100%.
The solution is simple. On the install disk check in the tools directory for \tools\controls\vbctrls.reg and double click to run. This will update your registry and then you should be OK
Have fun
This is always happening - and a right nusiance it is too. Microsoft are aware of it and have produced a program (vbc) to fix your registry for you.
