I have a vaild LEO license code for an additional drive. I am running an Overland PowerLoad robotic library which contains two drives. I have installed the license code by going Tools -> Serial Numbers and Instalation. After entering the code it sucessfully shows up in the list (in the installation) as Library Expansion Option. However, when I go to view my installed licenses under Help the Library Expansion Option is not listed there. What makes me believe it is not working is that while running backup jobs, only one drive runs at a time. Both drives are enabled and added to every partition. Any ideas?

Since inputting the new license number, have you rebooted the backup server?

I don't believe I have. Someone here at the company mention that to me and I was going to give it a try this weekend when everyones out. It's so hard to do reboots on the media server since it houses all of our home folders and shared drives.

I understand. But I believe licenses don't take effect until the system is restarted. So, try it this weekend and let us know then how it goes.

Good luck...

You can try a reboot - but if it doesn't fix it.

Run a repair of the installation - Do this from Add/Remove programs - choose Change on Veritas backup Exec.

If that doesn't work..
Run the installation again - remove the license - finish the installation.
Then run the install again and add the license - it should work.

I have rebooted many times now after installing all of the hot-fixes. I have also tired everything that you suggested justin2000 and still nothing. The LEO license still does not show in the list. One other thing I tried to comfirm was set one of my tape partitions to only use drive 2. Then I manually ran the job and it just sat qued. For further information, my library device is set to "random" and the SCSI ID's are sequential. The library controller is 3, drive 1 is ID 4 and drive 2 is ID 5.

I have a new library with 2 drives and have purchased 1 additional LEO. Do I need to install thie LEO license ONLY on the CAS/SSO Primary, or on all of the managed media servers as well?

1. You really should have started your own thread on this.

2. The LEO is installed on the server that you have Backup Exec installed on. That will allow ONE library to be used.
