Hello Everyone,

I've recently had a problem with my LG GDK 16A System that I installed several years ago. Two days ago the system did not want to power-up. The last thing you want on a Monday morning at the office. I initially thought that the internal fuse had blown, it had, and I replaced it. Then it blew again..
On closer inspection I found that the power switching regulator L4960 had developed a large burn through it. Promptly I removed and re-soldered a new L4960 and still I have the same problem of the internal 500mA fuse blowing. My only conclusion is that the transformer is faulty. However finding a replacement is going to be a problem if I don't know the specifications of it (ie. Part No, input/output voltages, connector descriptions, etc.). I would even settle for a circuit schematic of the MBU (Iss 3, Rev A).
My only other option is to find and replace the entire box with another GDK 16. I'll have to try and find one on Ebay.

Any Help??

Your local LG-Ericsson (former LG-Nortel) dealer in your country can maybe help.
I think if a GDK-16 blows the fuses, you should upgrade to ipLDK-24 or LG iPECS.

Thanks Doktor. But I gone with replacing the unit completely and now I have a LG GDK 34i. But this present another problem. The previous owners have assigned names to every station and I don't know how to get rid of them and just display the station number (i.e 100, 101, etc).

Hi

I think from memory you need to press Trans/Pgm, speed, 00, speed, hold/save.

Cheers
