Hi Guys,

Really struglling with this.

We have a IPECS system with LG Ericsson LIP - 8012D phones.

Two of the phones have frozen (Blank Screen with DND, Headset, Mute and Speaker Lights on - they are powered up). We have turned to power off and on and swapped them around the office. All other phones work in every other port with dial tones so it would seem that the problem is with the phones. The user manual does not give any troubleshooting advice.

Does anyone know how you would go about reset the phones themselves?

The company we have the maintenance contract with has gone bust so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Rusty

If as you say other handsets work in those ports you can be pretty sure that the handsets are at fault , how old are they? as you still qualify for 12 month manufactures guarentee if that is the time frame , you just need to find the authorised reseller for your country and return ...a good clue will be look at the serial number on the units if they are similar by a couple of digits at the end of the serial assume a bad batch.
If they are out of warranty where are you based i may be able to help?

LG had a batch of LIP 8012 and 8024 phones that either don't initialise or they cause a loud noise during calls intermitantly.
We send ours back to the supplier where they do some sort of firmware fix.
I suspect this is the problem with your phones.

There was a bad batch with this problem they should be changed under warranty

Thank you very much.

We are just out of the 12 month warranty period so we have no recourse to the manufacturer.

Rusty

You might be better off just buying 2 new handset and you can then just change the MAC code in program to swop them over

Thanks Randall

We are coming to that conclusion. The problem is that we have a system we cant get into now as the company who installed and had maintenance contract has gone bust and did not give us log on details. Just thought if we could bring the phone back to life it would save hassle in the short term and not need the system altering.

Regards,

Rusty
