Lexmark X75 Printer - Prints Lightly

I need to find out how to service this printer/scanner combo. It will print, but only in black, and then only lightly most times. What could be the culprit?

Did you select color and/or darker printing in the printer's software?

If so, then uninstall and reinstall the software according to the printer's instructions.

We have tried this to no avail :( Thanks for the suggestions. Any others?

The cartridges may be low on ink.

The cartridges have been replaced twice since the problem began.
