We had a trunk go out of service last week. The issue was resolved in wiring on the LEC side. Since the trunks have come back in service, the attendant is getting multiple calls that when answered are a second of static and the call drops, for the most part it is too fast for her to hit the trunk-id button, but when she was able to, it verified it was happening on the trunk that was recently put back in service. Any ideas on what could be causing this???? At first I thought it might be testing???

If these are analog trunks there is probably a metalic problem on the circuit, usually an intermitent ground.

status the trunk and see if all the members are back in service. If a T-1, do "list measurements ds1 " and check for errors. Do "status syn" and see if the pbx is synching off of a T-1 if u have one. Do "display errors" for that trunk and see if any of the errors point to a problem.

Here is the error log for this board, all errors seem to refer to packet interface errors. Also there are no major or minor alarms on any boards. Our LEC tested no errors up until smart jack, but got errors to CSU. Is the board bad?

Also, if I run test board long, it passes all of the tests???? Thanks for taking time out to help!!!!

And a status sync shows board 01c20 with 2 passes

DS-1 circuit packs do fail, but very rarely. With no alarms and the errors that u have, I would say that there is a problem caused by your vendor.
This is from the maintenance books
Error Type 1—The DS1 Interface circuit pack detects a hardware error on
the DS1 tie trunk. This error can be caused by incompatible translations.
Make sure the parameters administered on the DS1 circuit pack form
match those administered on the far-end switch. See DEFINITY
Communications System Generic 3 V2 Implementation, 555-230-653, and
DEFINITY Communications System Generic 2.2 and Generic 3 V2
DS1/CEPT/ISDN-PRI Reference, 555-025-107, for details.
The Aux Data field indicates the following hardware error types:
If all administration errors between the switch and the far-end match, and
these errors continue to recur, follow normal escalation procedures.
57476 On-hook before wink
57477 On-hook before ready to receive digits
57485 Wink too short for valid signal
57487 The timer expired while waiting for an off-hook
signal from the far end as a response at end of digits
dialing. Check the far-end switch for related
problems.
Error Type 257—The DS1 Interface circuit pack detects a hardware error
on the DS1 tie trunk. The trunk cannot communicate with the far end
because it is unable to interpret digits sent from the far-end switch. The
Aux Data field indicates the following:
Check with the far-end switch or operating company for proper trunk
connection.
57473 The rotary dial rate is below 8 pulses per second.
57474 The rotary dial rate is above 12 pulses per second.
