On a site i am doing i have two frames, one top nav and one main window...

In the top nav i want to use layers as menus... one problem the layers work but because i have them invisible and they are supposed to pop up.... they cant be seen due to the main frame covering them...

Is there anything i can do to make the layers appear over the top of this frame?

Thanks in advance for any info

Regards
Dan

No that was stupid reply... course it is sorry about that

anyway so the actually layer has to be in the mainframe?

I have had a look at doing that but say you are using the main frame as the frame in which the page can change what do you do then? can you not keep the layers in the top nav and have them overlapping the frames?

Regards
Dan

no!

you cannot overlap frames

I have to admit tho mx thats a nice little trick you got there [Hammer]

At massimocorner.com you will find an extension called back to my frames. The extension ensures that the main frame cannot be opened as a single document. If the main frame document is requested the script will open the frameset. Hence a menu is available at all times.
