Our Human resources department decided that it would be a good idea to email a large word document to everyone in the company.

Since this email was sent out our mail server has been crawling. When you try to do anything on the server you might as well make your selection and prepare to wait for 20 to 30 seconds for the server to repsond. It is also causing the clients to receive the requesting mail from server delay message occasionaly.

Anyone know how to purge this message completely out of my exchange server?

No need to mess with those tools if you are not confident.
Use an IMAP connection or OWA, and delete the message.

I treid to use exmerge and it didnt find many instances of the email. Bad thing is that the message was sent out as a global email. So I wanted to remove all instances of the one email. I thought exmerge was definetly the way to go but I did not have any luck with it.

If you ran exmerge and entered the option correctly then it caught every copy of that email that is on the active server. Now the question are they located in the .pst's or where they deleted?

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.
