Large e-mails often get stuck with Outlook 2003.

Outlook 2003 in a small business network using Microsoft Exchange Server (part of SBS2003) for internal calendars and task sharing. There are no local Outlook .PST files, only .OST files on the Exchange server.

Public e-mail does not go through the Exchange server. The default e-mail account in Outlook is a standard POP3 account, with the SMTP server of my ISP for outgoing e-mail. The Exchange server is the secondary (non-default) account.

The problem which keeps re-occurring (on multiple comptuers with almost identical configurations) is that when e-mail messages with large attachments (1MB or more) are created and sent, they may sit in the outbox without actually being sent to the outgoing (SMTP) mail server. When this occurs, I can often move the message to the 'drafts' folder, open it, and hit 'send' to try again. This usually (but not always) works.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this disturbing intermittent problem please.
