Hi.

I am having difficulties after a failed attempt to update the micom (power settings) in bios for my laptop. The update hanged and since that I have not been able to restart my computer at all. It just will not start. I have tried everything form taking out the setup battery etc.. All the gimmicks I can think of. So my question is ehat should I do next ? Is there a way how I can reset the flas memory in bios ? Or what should I do.. ? Ideas, Please ?

Thanks, lentaja77

most bios have got a jumper which allows you to reset the bios to original. in your instructionbook it should be listed under cmos or something similar. set the jumper reboot, switch off again switch the jumper off and restart [sig]
andreas owen
aowen@swissonline.ch
[/sig]

not on laptops you dont. try downloading the original flash bios from the manufacturer then flah it, they usually boot from a floppy disk, ( Dell one's do at least)

good luck

Re-attempt the Bios flash...if unable be prepared to send your laptop in for service as it will require either a system board change or a backdoor Bios flash...typically done through the parallel port.
