Laptop Screen Problem

Hello,

Question: My Sony Laptop, Sometimes when i turn it on then after 5 or 30 minutes, a part of the screen will be show as a black bar.

It's like that on the right site form the top to the bottom, over the background of the screen and the Taskbar, go a Black strip with a width of 5cm-6cm.

It cover the complett screen including the taskbar. Sometimes after a few minutes it will go away and sometimes i have to make a newstart after 5-10 minutes offpower.

What could be the problem. Windows XP, Office XP 5 weeks old...

The problem is not XP but the monitor. You need to have Sony as a Warranty repair deal with this issue. I warn you that it often just becomes worse as a problem over time. It is a manufacturing defect, and a warrantable item.
