I need to buy me a laptop. I've looked around and I'm now getting overwhelmed...they all seem the same to me - and I can't find anyone to give me solid answers on differences...and I was helping if maybe someone out there would be willing to answer a few questions..in Layman terms...for me...
So...my first question - is what is the difference between Pentium 4 and Pentium M processors?
What is the difference between XP Home and XP Pro? Which is better - I've always had Pro stuff - but it seems like Home comes with everything and if I get it in a store - like best buy - i can't get Pro on the laptop
And the DVD/CD burner speeds just confuse the heck out of me. I see 8X and 24X blah blah all the time - what does this mean?
I have been looking at Dell laptops, but then i went to Best buy and they had a nice Gateway - any thoughts on those two brands?
I want a Laptop that has wireless already in it, will be used to surf the net, email, keep personal finance records, write an occassional document or spreadsheet, and play/store all my MP3s. And Maybe do an occasional programming - java - on it...but won't be too intensive.
Any explanations would be greatly appreciated!
