I have a Lenovo Z60m.

Its default resolution is 1680 x 1050. The video card is a ATI Mobility Radeon X600

Its becoming more and more of a hassle to work at this resolution and I prefer to work at 1280 x 800.

When I change it to 1280 x 800; the display is rather fuzzy, It does not look crisp at all.

I've tried Lenovo's drivers, but the display is still fuzzy.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Set it back to default resoluton and either use bigger fonts or use Display Properties/Settings/General/DPI Setting/Large Size.

Ah yes. Much better!

My only qualm is now my quick launch, system tray, and start button look fuzzy.

I don't suppose there is a tweak for this as well.

Thanks for your quick post.

Try this - may improve or degenerate. Varies depending on your screen.

Start button problem
Click on Properties/Settings/Appearance.
Click on Effects...
In the second dropdown, there are two options: ClearType and Standard. If it is set to Standard, try Cleartype and see what happens.

Quick Launch problem
Do you use large or small icons? They will look fuzzy if you use large icons.

Right Click on Taskbar, select properties
Select Start Menu Tab
Click on Customize...
In the General tab, Select Small Icons

Right on. Thanks again.

Also, while you are in "Appearance", you can continue in "Advanced", find the "Desktop" settings and use the "scroll down" arrow for access to all the sizes of the print on all the screen settings. I use a "wide screen" 19 inch monitor at 1440x900 res - makes the letters hard to see for my old eyes! I can make them larger (and even different fonts), for clarity.

Good advice- thanks!
