I just got a HP Pavillion laptop. It has a 1 gig processor(don't know if this helps or not). The problem is, during boot up, the displays skips and then after a few minutes of running, the computer will freeze. If I put it in hibernate mode for a minute, then bring it back up, it will run fine for a little while longer. I hope somebody has had the same problem, because HP seems to have no clue what to do about it. They've worked on it twice so far, but still haven't gotten it right.
Thanks

Hi,

If its brand new, take it back and ask for a replacement as its unfit for its useage as under (if ur in the UK) Sales of Goods Act, espically as HP have worked on it twice.

If the worest comes to the worest, wipe the hard drive and start all over again, just do a basic windows install and see what happens.

Cheers

James

If you are running windows XP it could be due to a problem with the hard drive, laptop hard drives usually run at ATA66 but windows XP defaults to 100 the fix involved a change in the registry. Not an area I have any info on, we have had some problems on some machines in work, and this was the problem.
