Laptop Fan

I just got my first laptop and I have noticed that the fan on the side of the computer will turn off and on. I was wondering if there is a tweak out there that will let me turn it on and off manually? thanks

Many new laptops only have the fan come on when necessary. This is done to save power/battery life. Without knowing what laptop you have I can not answer this completely

I took a look at the specs on this machine. It does have a few power saving features such as the processor slowing down when not being used fully . I would say 99% chance that the fan is being turned off when not needed

The fan goes off and on for a reason (when it gets HOT)
So it wouldn't be wise to have a manual overide, you could seriously damage something if you forgot to turn it on. Martin Please let members know if there advice has helped any.
