Hi,
I have a gateway solo laptop. My problem is that letters of b continuously appear on the screen on any program. For example word, notepad or foxpro. It is as if someone is continuously pressing the letter B. I formatted the hard disk, re-installed everything several times. Sometimes the problem disappears and now I still have this problem. I have removed the letter B from the keyboard to verify if there is anything stuck in this character, there is none. For the last three weeks, I did not have this problem after re-formatting, it just re-started again. Can anyone pls help me, thanks in advance. Is the solution the replacement of the keyboard.

Yeah, keyboard or cable, probable keyboard. Ed Fair

It's probably a bit of conductive dust in either the keyboard connector, or underneath in the switch for the key itself .. clean it! :)

I think Chris has it. On many laptops, you can remove the keyboard by removing some screws on the bottom of the machine. You will be amazed how flimsy the keyboard actually is, as well as how much unspeakable filth you will find underneath it.

There is generally a flexible flat cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard. Problem could be in the connectors, the cable itself, or the membrane switch in the keyboard.

Good luck.
