I know this is a late post and you might never read this, but if you figured out a solution to your problem let me know cause I am completely unable to find the best of both worlds in a VPN tunnel because of the encryption, I wish encryption was able to be toggled like ON for connect and authenticate, but OFF for certain irrelevant data. Alas, necessary security for the internet, but a pain for those that have good intentions for their netorking needs....
