LAN Domain name same as Website 1

I have a website hosted by an external source
ie

http://www.domainname.co.uk

i also have a webserver locally on my LAN
my LAN domain is the same as my external website address
ie domainname.co.uk
from my LAN i can access all sites except my site (

http://www.domainname.co.uk)

How can I access the website from within my LAN

IF you are running DNS locally then you will need to set up a pointer to point to

http://www external

IP address.

Thanks for your help, we are running DNS locally but I didn't set it up the guy before me did, i'm not how to do what you suggested could you talk me through it.

Depending on the DNS server you are running, you need to edit the zone file for that domain. You need to add an A record for

http://WWW to

point to the IP of the webserver hosting your site.
