I have a form which has some labels on it. The labels are not showing up with the correct size when the user opens it up. Where are these settings found? Do they have to be set per user, or can they be set in the DB?

Thanks,

Rich

Like virtually any control, the sizes of the labels are specified in their property sheet in Design View.

I've never heard of any control's size changing all on its own. Is it possible your form has some kind of VBA code in the Open event that's attempting to resize the form and its controls to fit the user's screen resolution? I've seen code that does this, and it's very tricky to get it right.

Dear Rich,

You need to be careful when you create labels, buttons, anything like this that holds text.

Here is what I mean by careful:
1) If other users will be using your access program, do not select unusual fonts. If you do and the other PC does not have those fonts, then windows will chose a default font and that font may not fit in the same space.
2) If you have your PC set to a different resolution say your PC is set to 1024x768 (large fonts) and the other user is set to 800x600 (Small fonts) the text on your labels my not size the same. To solve this, always leave extra room in you label or button incase the text grows or shrinks.

In summary, always leave extra room for text in labels and buttons.

Note: This same problem may occur in reports as different printers are used for the same report, so be careful and leave extra room in reports also.

Hope This Helps,
Hap [2thumbsup]

Thanks Hap! Turns out, I sorta figured it out last night, but your post confirms my hipothesis. I WAS using a strange font, and by making the label larger, it fits on all the users' interface. Thanks again!
