We are using an Avocent 180 digital KVM to control a number of servers. It was working fine, except we wanted to replace the keyboard and mouse. The new mouse wasn't recognized, so in an attempt to reset the switch, we turned the power off, with everything else up and running. Now the switch does not work at all, the monitor is blank, it doesn't respond to the keyboard. We're wondering if that could have damaged our switch, and is there a way to re-configure it. We have an owner's manual but it doesn't refer to that problem. Would appreciate any suggestions.

We managed to figure this problem out ourselves: the KVM switch at least one computer connected to it for the monitor to work.
