KPPP Problem?

When I run KPPP, I cannot launch any other program. If I already have a program up and running it works fine. However selecting any program in the KDE results in nothing....no process, no noticeable CPU usage etc. But if I disconnect and close KPPP, I am able to run normally again. Any suggestions?<br>
