We are in the process of setting up scanners within are organization and we are using Kodak Imaging which comes with windows to calibrate the scanner's settings. On some of the computers when we go to open the kodak imaging program it gives us an KodakImg Error saying it caused an invalid operation. What the reason for this error and how can we fix it? Thanks.

Best to try to reinstall the application. Also, check your device manager to see if you have any hardware conflicts.

I need a bit more info here. Regards
Phil

Please tell me if the answer I gave was helpful to you. Without your feedback I don't know if the answer was correct.

what else is needed? just let me know and I will do my best to get it to you

Sorry, now that I've read your comment correctly, you've already told me "invalid operation" Combine that bit of info with the fact that it's only some of the computers and not all, and I assume that all terminals feed from the same OS, then I would reinstall the application as suggested by Accessdabler. Please tell me if the answer I gave was helpful or a bus ride out. Without your feedback I won't know.

Tried removing kodak imaging and reinstalling it but the same error has occured. Any thing else you can suggest? Thanks.

Kodak imaging that comes with windows 9x is a little bit old and as far as I am aware it is not "supported".

I would suggest that you use the imaging software that came with the scanners - Incidentally, what scanner/s are you using?

The reason for what is causing the problem is hard to pinpoint from the info you give. But I would "hazard a guess" that they are different machines that have been installed at different times by maybe different people, with maybe some running 95 and others running 98, who had the sole aim of "getting them going".

Other than starting from scratch I would go with trying to install the accompanying "probably" supported software.

Please post back with the scanner models etc. and to put me right where I am wrong. ;-)

Regards.

We use a company that supplies us with a system and their software to run our credit union. They provided us with a ScanShell 600c which we are going to use to capture our members ids to verify the member with the id we have on file. I called them and they said no software is needed to run the scanner which I thought was odd. They instructed me to use the kodak imaging to configure it. It worked for a couple of the scanners. A few of the computers that I tried doing this on would give me an error when I tried to open the kodak program. So that is were I am stuck. It will not allow the scanner to work until it has been used in the kodak imaging software. The company we are working with is becoming very annoying.

I did a little searching and came across the following link to a "Free" alternative to Kodak Imaging (please check their terms and conditions before use) - I haven't tried it myself but no reason you shouldn't give it a go.

Before I finish, have you tried booting to safe mode, uninstalling, rebooting to normal mode and re-installing?

Let us know how you go on.

Regards.

Irfanview's an excellent free app (for various image processes - and it scans fine for us). Do the scanners have drivers provided? Have you got latest version?

Thanks alot. We are going to go ahead an use this program for the computers that would not let us load kodak imgaging. Appreciate the help.

Hi. It's my first time here so hello all. I have a quick question for TiburonRacing: my company is currently using the Corex CardScan500 and we're looking at trying the ScanShell 600c or 800c. How have you liked it so far? Have you had any problems? We do medical insurance card scanning and we've been having problems with some cards jamming in the CardScan500.

taylorguitarman,
So far we have not had any problems as far as the scanner itself goes. We are using them to scan our members drivers license. The quality of the scan is pretty good itself considering the size of the scanner. If you have any further questions about the scanner feel free to ask.
