When I connect MMC thru enterprise manager, I got connected without being asked for login/user name nor password. And I can do everything like creating a new database etc.

Can anybody explain
1) how do i find thru which user/login I am connected with?
2) how is Enterprise manager/MMC security system managed?

thanks

1) In EM, right-click the Server and select 'Edit SQL Server Registration Properties...' You'll be able to see the authentication mode, login, etc. The password is hidden.

2) In the same dialog there is a check box - 'Always prompt for login name and password'. This is how you control security. In addition, any PC, workstation or server with EM installed should be properly secured. Terry L. Broadbent
