knoppix blinking cursor

I have downloaded the latest ISO of knoppix and buring that image to a cd.
I do not use any additional options when it boots up after I press enter I just see the penguin and a blinking cursor. This also happened on this same machine with 3.7
I saw that perhaps I need to issue command like nodma or something like that.
Does anyone have some suggestions?
 
There have allways been a lot of options, (speaking of 3.3, 3.4, 3.5), most of documented, when hitting F2 or F3 key.

One of them was 'failsafe' which is a bundle of some of them.

Did you check the md5 sum of the iso before you burnt it?
 
that would be a no since i am not sure how to do that and knew eventually I would have to...any suggestions of where to look for edumacation on that?
