Tip I came across in a users meeting:
If you've noticed that small, half second delay of event sounds that sometimes occurs, like a clunk sounding just after your animated brick hit the ground, this can help. It's called a kicker. You create the sound event as usual (keyframe with sound on it) and then create another keyframe in front of it. Apply the sound to this ("clunk, clunk") but edit the first sound by turning the volume completely down. Supposedly, this gets everything geared up for the sound, without actually hearing it, so that the second one hits on time. It seems to help, although it could be my imagination. Hopefully you all can get some use out of it. - nichole

Yes, actually it seems like it might help, but I dont know the routines of flash...if flash initilizes sound only when needed, that should help...because it would initilize sound and keep it initilized for the next upcoming sound...

Now if flash just keeps sound initilized when there is sound in a movie, then it wouldn't help...but I believe it is the other way...thanks for the post, it's appreciated.
