I have a strange problem. I have a workstation running Windows XP Pro SP2 that has a couple of keys that seem to act as hot keys. It is more of a problem when I Remote Desktop to one of my servers. If I am remoted into one of my Servers and I hit the "E" key it closes out whatever I have open on the Server. If I hit the "D" key it minimizes and maximizes whatever is open on the Server. On the local workstation, I don't have that problem. The only affect I have on the local workstation is when "My Computer" is open and I hit the "D" key, it jumps to the different choices. I have sacanned for viruses and spyware. We use Trendmicro.

Are you loggin into the server as servername or servername /console?

I am connecting to the server by Servername

Have you looked at this setting to see if it is a cause of the problem?

On the Remote Desktop settings (Options), in the Local Resources tab, Keyboard, "Apply Windows Key Combinations"?

Thanks for the suggestions. I eventually found something that helped. It entailed holding down a pair of keys for 8 seconds (the ctrl or shift keys I believe) and it disabled something within windows on my workstation and resolved my problem.

On the other hand maybe not!

it was under the headinh
"Single key shortcuts used in graphics applications"

sorry
