Keeping focus on one worksheet whilst a macro runs

My macro opens up several workbooks and then processes the data contained within them.
whilst it runs the screen shows exactly what the macro is doing.

is it possible to keep the macro focused on the worksheet with my 'start' button on it?

Why not switch off screen updating instead.

Application.ScreenUpdating=False
