kdeinit processes

dear members,

i have a problem. here it is. i want to know which processes are at present running on the system. i know i can do it with "ps -e" command on prompt. but my problem is that when i start KCalc from Kde menu, its entry comes as kdeinit in "ps -e" that is KCalc gets forked from main kdeinit process. in this case is it possible for me to some how know that KCalc is running. please hurry.

how about ps -ef

on rh 7.2 in kde desktop window of konsole

ps -ef | grep konsole

root 20875 20529 0 Mar03 ? 00:04:15 kdeinit: konsole
root 11573 11526 0 13:47 pts/3 00:00:00 grep konsole
