I just completed configuring a SL500 in a datazone but I only see 50 slots and I know the library has almost 400 slots. Any ideas? Is this someting that I should be discussing with the library vendor?

Not sure about a SL500, but it may well be that you will have to add (and pay for) an additional license key if you want to see more slots. I have seen this behaviour in an ESL9000 from HP.
So discussing with the library vendor seems a good idea.

Problem resolved. The library vendor (Sun Storage) incorrectly configured the library. Library was reconfigured, I reran jbconfig and I am now seeing all 300+ slots.

Hello,

if you issue this command :

sjirdtag x.y.z (where x, y and z are the SCSI adress of your jukebox)

how many 'Element Type STORAGE:' are returned ?

It is the total number of slots which are presented to networker when doing the 'inquire' phase during the jbconfig (even if there are more slots in the jukebox, due to a capacity-on-demand, for example).

So it's a good idea to launch this command in order to have a clue in finding the problem origin : jukebox or networker.

Nice to find the problem resolved :-)

Ahh, I was wondering why you asked about running inquire now. But I know now how to determine whether the issue is with the library or Networker.

It's great to learn something new EVERYDAY!!

Thanks.
