I am planning an online Product Catalog complete with Pictures for each item, using SQL Server database &amp; ASP/HTML. Is it possible to put images in the database tables or would it be better to put a reference (something like record= <a href=&quot;path/imagename.jpg></a>) that would be used by the ASP/html page?

Also, how do I add jpegs using Insert or Update SQL commands? User will have HTML form for creation/update of new products.

Dear;
Ya , it is possible to save pictures in SQL Server. It has image data type for pictures. But , it would be better if you use a reference which you mentioned. Saving and Retreiving pictures directly from the database is not a good practice , it will make slow your application and also increased the size of your database and you must have large no of product.

I'll provide the statement to save pictures using insert.
