Help! I believe that I have done the steps correctly, but I get a message saying that the machine can not find the network path. I am using a static IP for the client. I am also using active directory and the user account has the proper permissions.

I can ping the server and other machines on the network.

Thanks for any help.

I had a similar problem when seting up our domain. Make sure you did not add the computer profiles into active dir, or they will conflict. Also I originally was typing in the entire domain name - houston.local, and received the same error maessage. When I changed it to simply Houston it worked!

Sounds like a Dns problem, Like yizhar says Configure the client TCP/IP DNS server with the ip of the W2K server, not the ISP. Make sure that there is a host record in Dns for the computers in your domain, use nslookup.

Thanks guys - I forgot about the DNS issue!
