I am trying to take the results of one query and use them as a condition in another query.

Specifically, I have items numbers that come from a specific location. I ran a query on all items to return inventory value by week. I have another query from another data provider that says give me all active item numbers. I need to limit the results of the first query to look for inventory values for only those item numbers that show up in the second query.

I can get two data providers in the same report. I can go into the data cube and link the fields. Then I pulled Item number from query 2 and the week number and inventory value from query 1 and it is still showing ALL items as though i pulles item numbr from query 1.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

That's just not how it works. Data providers are linked, not joined. You can get clever with "not IsNull" to simulate a join.

6.x has a feature to use the results of 1 data provider to feed another. It just doesn't work very well.
