Joined a domain and got a blank screen

I loaded windows server 2003 R2 onto a dell poweredge 830 and it worked fine in workgroup. As soon as I joined it to the domain, the screen went blank after I logged in for 15 minutes, then the desktop came up. What could possibly be wrong? (this machine is not a domain controller).

Check the DNS settings on the new server. It should be pointing to your internal dns servers not external servers.
