Hi

Does anybody know if it's possible to join / authenticate to a remote domain on a different subnet. I currently have my PDC on one site and client PC on another. There currently connected via a bridge (single subnet) and it all works fine (if a little slow). I’m looking at upgrading the bridges to routers to make it a bit more efficient, but this means 2 separate Lans. My question is will it work if I upgrade?

PDC = NT4
DHCP
WINS
Printing
File server

Client PCs = win2k

Any help / advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Rob

Not a problem, as long as you have your dns and routing set up correctly. I have a total of 4 different lans with all servers on one. My remote branches all sign on to my servers here, they don't have local servers.

Thank's for the advice, looks like a good reason to upgrade to win2k. One last question though, how do your client PCs get a DHCP address from the server?
DHCP relay on the router ?

Thanks again

Rob

Unfortunately, I don't run dhcp at this time. I am going to move to dhcp eventually. I think you are correct, your router has to forward bootp if I remember right.
