Job on Hold

I'm using backup exec on a Win200 server and its been running fine for as long as I can remember. I ran a job (Full backup) on the 28th which was "cancelled due to service stop". I've tried re-scheduling the job but it goes back on hold almost immediately (2/3 seconds).

The Tape device is an internal Compaq 20/40 Dat drive and I am able to run an inventory, which returns the correct tape details - but when I right click on the "On hold" job the only activities I can access are the

New Scedule
Delete and
Hold

The remaining options are greyed out.

I've read through the previous posts and some of the suggestions looked promising but didn't work.

HELP!! I'm feeling rather exposed now.

Hi,
1-Is job get executed when you use Run Now?
2-when you schedule a job ,Are you sure you are not selecting the option to put job on hold?

3-Try to run a small job to run now & then try to schedule it to run after say 1 minute and check if that works or not.
