Is there anyway to recover job history information for a job that has already had its data aged off or deleted?

When you click on Backup History, select 'Advanced' and check the 'Include Aged Data' field.

That won't display history for jobs that have had it's data overwritten or erased.

I had a job that ran a long while ago. The media it was written to has since been aged and overwritten. What I want to find out is what media that original job copied to, but I can't locate job history for a backup job that no longer has accessible data associated with it.

In that case, I don't think you can get it - only media with Aged, but not overwritten data. You could trawl through the log files if they're kept long enough.

Can I ask why you'd want to know this anyhow?

Jon

For certain compliance issues, all tapes written to need to be pulled from the rotation. Even if the data has been aged or overwritten.

You could set up a report to show what tapes are used each day by what jobs;have it email you daily and then keep these to use at a later date to help make it easier for you
