Hi

I see from previous posts that this issue keeps cropping up, however I can't find an answer to my specific question so:

I've got a corrupt Access 97 db that I have tried to fix using the Jetcomp utility. This gives me another database with just one table called MsysCompactError, which appears to be some sort of error log.

Is this correct and if so what do I do with this??

TIA

Mutt

The Jet database engine generates an error if it encounters a problem during the Compact process and then creates the MSysCompactError table in the destination database. Theoretically, MSysCompactError contains one or more error messages explaining why the compact failed. I've never seen the table but other have indicated the messages are often not helpful. Terry
