java servlets on headless BEA WL server

I am attempting to run java servlets that create dynamic graphs on a BEA Weblogic server. Is this possible without using Xvfb or other such tool? Unfortunately, my company is still at Java 1.3.1 (don't ask) and I can't use the more advanced Java features that might help work around this issue.
