Hi all!

This might not be the right forum to post this, but maybe you know the answer. I would like to make a Japanese version of my site, but have English Windows. I recieve the Japanese translation in Microsoft Word. I could not figure it out how to translate it to text and how to make that text readable by IE.
Do you know a japanese text editor what would work under English Windows? What would be a good way to create a page in HTML? I could do the page creating a gif images to be perfectly compatible, but that would make the page pretty large...

Well, I don't have experience dealling with this kind of thing... but my windows is in Portuguese hehe.

First, make sure u have in your IE the suport for jap fonts, then I would try to create the doc u say u do in MSWord (in jap) then save it as HTML, and try to see how it works in IE.

If that fails, u'll propably have to install jap language (as an extra one) in yout Windows.

Hope it works!

You know, someone else is asking this exact same thing in the HTML/CSS forum. You should read that.

Hi Ayac,

I hope this helps.

I am developing a website with Japanese database. I downloaded the IE for japanese language to enable me to type in japanese with an English windows version. I use Dreamweaver MX as my web design tool. After downloading the IE you should be able to type Japanese using your web design tool and view your web pages in Japanese.

In layout mode, change your page properties; Under Document Encoding,Change to Japanese (JIS. Save your document and view your page in Japanese and/or English depending on your content.

Hope this is what you were after.

Flo
