I tried to make my sshd_config more secure, all worked fine, I then changed a setting to 'strict yes' and now I cannot login, network just times out, what has happened and can I resolve it easily?

The console is 75 miles away - long arms would come in handy.

A phone call has fixed it - it appears that ssh daemon didn't restart....and I should have started up another daemon on another port as a backup - you live learn

Normally you should keep your SSH connection even if the remote service shuts down, as long as you don't exit. That way you can test logging in & out in another window while keeping a connection open.
