Hello,
I posted a few weeks back about the problem of the "Search Results" window opening itself randomly and in multiples, I've rebooted after 30 or 40 before. I thought I had repaired it w/ TweakUI but apparently just postponed it. I have also tried System Restore to before this was a problem.
This is an annoying problem because I'll be working away, and all of a sudden BAM! I'm typing in the "Search results" box.
Hardware is an Asus M6N home-built laptop (Pentium M 1.6, 1 GB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HDD, XP Pro) running a Logitech DiNovo Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse and Sony external monitor.
At first I thought it was the keyboard sending multiple "search" requests, as it has a Search button, but if the Search button is held down it does not create multiple windows...in fact if this Search button is held down the problem is solved! I have the phone resting on the button now and the problem is gone.
I am going to try and use just the laptop by itself with no keyboard/mouse/monitor and see how that goes. In the meanwhile any other ideas will be appreciated!
Tony
