I am trying to walk a client through a master clear command on a remote 1616 phone at his house and it's not working well. The phone is hunting VLAN 100 because it was already plugged in at the office to pull firmware and such. I need to clear that setting out so the phone finds the DHCP options on the sonicwall. I have tried * CLEAR # and * CRAFT # with no luck. The phone just keeps rebooting without taking any commands. Any help would be appreciated.

Combine the two, *CRAFTCLEAR# and wait for the magic to happen[smile]

Kind regards

Gunnar

The last 1608 I reset was mute craftclear # that was a new phone about a month ago.

This particular phone is on the press * to program screen counting up waiting for dhcp.

It should be *CRAFT#
Have you tried with out a password, just #?

Kind regards

Gunnar

Yeah, * then # reboots. I haven't called him back yet to try *CRAFTCLEAR# yet. Mute doesn't matter in this case right?

It has been CRAFTCLEAR etc for some time now, like almost a year :)

The phone stops taking characters after *CRAFTCL and just beeps at you

As of 1.3.3, the default password was changed from blank to "CRAFT".

Well, there is a tiny chance that someone changed a parameter in the 46xxsettings file.

If you can obtain that, look for "SET PROCPSWD" the digits after is your code.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Well finally got it. He had to hit star, then CRAFT, then hit # a bunch of times until the "Enter Command" screen popped up, then you have to enter Mute+CRAFTCLEAR# then # and # again. Whew!

Thanks all for contributing.

Funny phone, don't know what caused the it.
But you didn't give up, and you posted the solution, I like that!

Have a star:)

Kind regards

Gunnar
