I am unable to send mail to the outside world. I can send internal and can receive all internal and external mail. I send it and i don't get and failure notice. It just disappears into space without a warning. Can anyone please help me!!!!!!!
Here's a few things I would check:
Where does your Internet Mail Connector point to (another host or DNS)?
Are the messages queued on the IMC?
Have you checked the address space on the IMC for SMTP mail?
Are there any delivery restrictions set on the IMC?
Is transfer mode on the IMC set to INBOUND and OUTBOUND?
Thanks for the response Jpaf. I really need it. First let me start by saying, everything is working fine now. We were unable to send outside mail for about two hours and then suddenly we began to. It would take a long time to send (15 min) but it would eventually arrive but still some would not. After about another hour all the mail was sending at a resonable time. I have no clue what happen.
1. Are the messages queued on the IMC?
---Yes my IMC points to our DNS.
2. Have you checked the address space on the IMC for SMTP mail?
---Not sure how to.
3. Are there any delivery restrictions set on the IMC?
---NO
4. Is transfer mode on the IMC set to INBOUND and OUTBOUND?
---YES.
Even thou things look ok now, i'm not convinced that it is. Over the weekend an odd thing happen. Many workers were complaining that webmail (owa)lost connection to the mail server. By the time I got to the office to check it out, it was connected again. Any idea?
Help I to am having the same problem every thing looks fine the only thing about our installation is that the Excsrv fifolder now exceeds 24.8 GB couls this be an issue
You might want to check with you service provider to see if there were any problems with your internet connection. 24.8 gigs could be a problem depending on how much disk space is available on that drive.
