I have an IPO 500 R5. The carrier has changed the config on the PRI from what i would called traditional or "TDM" to a dynamic PRI.

The new PRI goes thru a Cisco IAD and now it does not function.

In SSA i see 23 channels up and idle but not in or out bound calls.

Any thoughts or has anyone encoutered this?

(Carrier TDS Metrocomm, Southern Wisconsin)

Thanx in advance

This is what it means:

Cause No. 18 - no user responding.
This cause is used when a called party does not respond to a call establishment message with either an alerting or connect indication within the prescribed period of time allocated.
What it means:
The equipment on the other end does not answer the call. Usually this is a misconfiguration on the equipment being called.

When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys!

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

I think Avaya could come up with a better description versus "no user response".

I am/was looking for confirmation the problem is a CO/carrier issue.

The tech from TDS finally got out his T-Bird and proved it is not the IPIO.

Thank you for the response

They are industry standard cause codes, Avaya didn't write them, a quick Google would reveal that :-)

the description is not Avaya's
it is the official description form the ISDN specification.

I do not Have A.D.D. im just easily, Hey look a Squirrel!

well that is good to know, at least it is not a Avaya labs description.

But when you have the carrier tech and client looking over your should, ambiguous descriptions don't help. makes me wonder who the official is. case closed

The carrier tech isn't very good if he doesn't know what the codes and descriptions are, it's his job :-)
