I'm setting up ISDN BRI service from our CS1000M Multi-group (Opt. 81C), for radio broadcasts from our basketball arena.

I'm at the point where I want to test the circuits with the broadcast device, and in looking through several archives, there seem to be different experiences on how to dial out. Some have reported trouble with NARS/BARS, and specify using the ACOD for the preferred route. Others seem to indicate that NARS/BARS is OK to use.

Is there any concensus of experience among the group? All of our outbound routes are PRI.

Thanks.

i never recogmend acod due to the lack of control, i've used bars on bri without a problem

John, thanks for the reply.

The lack of control is one of my concerns, plus the CDR records for the calls don't make sense to the State's billing system.

I'm thinking that NARS/BARS might be an issue if all routes are not PRI, or if all carriers can't handle the BRI call.

that's one of the plus sides of bars, you route the spid of the distant bri in as a spn, pick the route and frl.. the switch doesn't pick the routes
