We have on-campus ISDN-BRI (UILC and MISP cards). I have been asked to see what it will take to extend our ISDN-BRI out to the rest of the world for both in and outbound ISDN calls (video). I am under the assumption that ISDN-BRI will not integrate with our ISDN-PRI trunks that we use for our voice calls (how would those calls be processed through the switch), and that special equipment would be required, or just order the ISND-BRI from telco and extend them from the demarc. Thanks

i've always had a pri behind my misp, i've never used a bri just internal, just used channels on my pri's for the pstn side.. haven't played with one in about 4 years but they are not that complex

John, besides the NTP (which are quite confusing), have you seen anything as far as directions on HOW to hook this stuff up. One thing I'm not too good on understanding is.. if I assign a DID to this ISDN-BRI from the outside, does the programming on the MISP-DSL handle where the call ends up?

I guess what I'm looking for, is more info on how to integrate into the PSTN.. what is required on my side, and from telco (any special circuits involved).

Just configure a DID on BRI Ext. and will work that is how I doit and it work fine, just one thing when you configure your videoconference system on the number of each channel put the complete DID number not your local Ext. because you wont be able to receive call from outside.

It's no problem setting up your MISP card to be used as a BRI-Line that communicates through the PRI card. I use this all the time. But make sure you configure 2 numbers at each channel so that the Videosystem can have more than 1, 3 or 5 channels.

But here is my config, and I think you have to setup the DSL first, then assign the numbers via TSP. The config below is used on a Tandberg Videoconferencing system...
