what advantges does ide.dsk (1994) bring to Netware 3.11 over the original isadisk.dsk (1991) disk driver set? Does it cope with ATA66/100/133 IDE drives?
isadisk if I recall (it's been awhile) was designed initially for IDE drives that were less than 528MB an original limit. Although ISADISK.DSK would prob work, from a performance standpoint IDE.DSK is a lot better. I don't know if you can run the later drivers that come with NW4/5 on the NW3 servers.
Thanks for the response. I built a new server with 3.11 using a Western Digital 20gig hdd. IDE.DSK would only recognise 8.4gig, ISA.DSK recognised the full 20gig. No prizes for guessing which disk driver I am running with.
