Hi,
I've just bought Visual Studio .Net Academic Edition. Before I delved into into its 6 CD's, I wanted to know if the Windows Software Development Kit (commonly known as SDK) and the Driver Developer Kit (DDK) were a part of the package. I see the Platform SDK documentation under the Documentation section when you go into the Install program..I'm not sure if that implies that Win SDK and DDK will be part of the install.. It's hard to really find out a list of the deep details of the install from the Installation documentation, and knowing about Win SDK and DDK is kinda deep I guess...

Thank you very much..

Saad

I'd tried both links before... the problem is that the ddk is no longer available for download from the above website. Microsoft has discontinued it... they are instead going to release with Windows .Net Server or something...there was an order form on the website for requesting the software by Mail...I filled out the form almost 3 weeks ago, gave in my credit card information and all... the ddk has not been shipped to me yet... think it'll ship on the 12th of December or something... I'm gonna lose endless hours of work by then..

The SDK...I had gone to the microsoft site to download it. No matter what Sdk I picked (Core, IIS, MDac or multiple ones), I always got the error "A server problem has occurred. An attempt to resume the download will occur in x seconds"...then the seconds count down..then the same problem occurs...this is repeated infinite number of times..

I had reported the problem to Microsoft...a support person got back to me after 4 days, said she had forwarded my email to the "appropriate team" for handling.. the problem has not been fixed ever since..

I have been searching after these 2 development kits for almost one-month now.. I have neither been able to purchase nor download-for-free these two products..

I guess, this is the whole reason why I've had to so desperately get Visual Studio .Net and post to this newsgroup as well..

Thanks,

Saad
