Hi I am not a HTML guru or anyhting I use dreamweaver and was wondering is there a way to modify a html page that has certain areas protected?
thnaks

What do you mean?? DW is an editor, you can edit anything (except images)...
Can you be more specific?? I have not failed; I have merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Do you mean sites with frames only displaying the code from the selected frame on view>source? Remember that each frame on a framed page is actually seperate code so you'll have to look at all of the frames for it to make sense. If you mean code that has been actually encrypted then unless you have the relvant s/w then you'll be unable to view it.

theres nothing protected on that page (view source)

keano what exactly were you trying to modify?? I have not failed; I have merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

I know what are you talking about.

If you notice at the begining of the page is making reference to a template.

<html><!-- #BeginTemplate &quot;/Templates/about.dwt&quot; -->
<head>

Templates are used in Dreamweaver to make it easy for you to make a change in a single page and automatically update all the pages that are linked to that template.

what you need to do is dissasociate (terminate the link with the template)so you can edit the page.

follow this instructions:

Open the page in Dreamweaver
from the top menu select Modify > Template > Detach from template

That should do it..... dude.....

by the way... what are you doing man.... stealing design? :-D... ha!, ha!

Dumboy.! Ouch.! .my brain.....
