Is there a way to capture lpt1 with iPrint 1

we have moveed over to netware6 and to iPrint and on have a DOS program that printed to the network printer by way of captureing the printer port.

Can this be done? if so how?

Hi, Sean
Your workstations should have the iPrint client installed.
Open the iPrint client, go to the iCapture tab, choose the LPT port, & choose the printer to capture.

This is a one-time thing; the capture should remain on the workstation until you tell it to end the capture

where would I find the iPrint client I don't see it?

In order to use iPrint, your client machines must have the iPrint client installed.

It should show up in your installed programs.

If you need to download the client again, the default path on your iPrint server is:

http://servername.domain.name:port/ipp

On further recollection.....

If memory serves me right, the pre-SP3 iPrint client didn't have the capture utility.

If that's the case, it would explain why you can't find it on your workstations.

If you install SP3 on your iPrint server, you will be able to download & use the new iPrint client.

You can setup a capture in their personal script. Here's what we've done:

net use lpt3 /delete

net use lpt3 \\co-dhs\ysf\cen\cenfl2_hp8000_01q

try it

We are running NW6 with SP3, and iPrint client has iCapture tab when installed on Win2000 or XP. iPrint client installed on 98 does not have iCapture tab. Any ways to get iCapture to work on 98?
